A good set of fishing gloves never go astray. Palms light game gloves are a good compromise between the strength and durability of leadering gloves and the flexibility and ease-of-use that come with lighter duty sun protection gloves.
Made from a light weight, flexible material, they are precisely cut to avoid any sharp uncomfortable edges. As with most fishing gloves, they are made of mesh to allow quick and easy drying after a days fishing. The mesh is hard wearing and highly abrasion resistant, designed for rigorous fresh or saltwater work. Palms has even gone as far as changing the angel of the strap to allow the gloves to stay securely on, with out putting pressure on the wrist. The thumb and fore fingers are padded with leather to reinforce the two most used digits.
Available now for around $65AUD.

Ok, so we have plenty of reviews for rods, reels, lines and lures, but how about finding the fish before you use all that?
SIMRAD have just released a new broadband sounder module that goes further than ever before, the BSM-2 We’re used to the transition to DSP-based products that happened over the last 5 years, the more recent move to broadband sounders, and now Navico, with SIMRAD, have gone one step further: CHIRP.
What is CHIRP? CHIRP is described as both Frequency Sweeping Pulse Compression” and Compression Modulation, but what you get for it, is dual independant transducers and transcievers.
But its results that we’re buying, so what does it do? The two pulses help separate targets. On one sounder, you may get some mid-water blobs, but the SIMRAD BSM-2 can resolve it into individual fish. Great to know you’re dropping on a school of good-sized fish, not a big baitball!
Try this shot!
Or competitor Tritech‘s unit. First the chain links;

In a regular sounder;

Or showing individual chain links with CHIRP;
